⇨ DOMESTIC ELECTRICAL SERVICES
EICR
An EICR is an Electrical Installation Condition Report. It is a formal document that is produced following an assessment of the electrical installation within a property. It must be carried out by an experienced qualified electrician or approved contractor.
An EICR is recommended in all domestic homes at least every 10 years to check the condition of the electrical installation and ensure there is no deterioration, however there may be reasons why an EICR would need to be done more often.
Such as vandalism
During an EICR, an electrician may make several electrical observations and will give each one a recommendation code. The observations describe a defect or omission within the electrical installation. The electricians will code each observation according to the level of severity. The observations will be written in a clear way and are not in any way a sales tool. The customer would then be able to source competitive quotes for the works recommended should they wish to do so.
We take electrical installations, servicing and safety extremely seriously. All our engineers are trained to the highest standards and are DBS checked, and all of our, no obligation, quotes come free of charge.
OUTDOOR ELECTRICS INSTALLATION
Many people find it easier to have electric sockets outside, making use of power tools like an electric lawn power or strimmer much easier to use, leaving no trailing cables through your home. Or at Christmas when adding a Christmas decoration by the front door.
Weatherproof sockets make the use of your equipment outdoors much safer and easier. When the lid is closed they can offer protection from the severest weather conditions.

- Outbuildings
Part P building regulations now effectively ban home owners from installing their own electrics in ponds, sheds, garages and greenhouses which means that all electrical work in the garden must be carried out by a government approved electrician registered with Part P, like Datel Electrical Ltd.
Part P applies to garden lighting, pond lighting, pond pumps, swimming pools, stables and saunas, along with outbuildings such as sheds, detached garages & greenhouses.
Local authorities can order the removal or correction of any work that does not comply and you could be fined.
WE CAN DO ALL OF YOUR OUTDOOR WIRING
Electrical work and repairs can be dangerous, especially around water. There is a risk of shock or electrocution, which could result in serious injury or death. We strongly advise that outdoor lighting and heating electrical wiring be referred to a licensed electrician.
Datel Electrical can also install circuit breakers in your electrical consumer unit and run cabling to your outdoor appliances.
All installations must be registered with Building Control and be Part P Compliant.
