A local education department, in Newton Abbot, contacted us to improve the functionality of their classrooms by adding more electrical outlets. With a growing need for multiple devices and appliances, the client wanted four new double socket outlets installed to reduce reliance on extension leads and trailing cables, improving both convenience and safety.
Following an initial survey, we identified suitable locations for the new sockets and confirmed that the existing electrical circuit had the capacity to support the additional outlets. All work was carried out to BS 7671:2018 (18th Edition) wiring regulations, ensuring full compliance and safety.
The installation included:
Supply and installation of 4 new 13A double socket outlets
Cable installation from the existing circuit or consumer unit
All necessary electrical connections and terminations
Full electrical testing and certification upon completion
Once the work was complete, we issued a Minor Works Certificate to provide the customer with official documentation of the installation and testing.
The new sockets were installed neatly and efficiently, with minimal disruption to the classroom timetable. The improved access to power points has made day-to-day living more convenient while reducing the potential hazards of overloaded extension leads.
