In September, Datel Electrical’s Managing Director, Dave Wright, once again teamed up with the incredible team at Splash Projects, this time supporting a unique build at ESSCA in Angers, France.
The project challenged business students from ESSCA’s BMI cohort to design and build an accessible activity hub in just 4 days, and on the last day, even had time to build go-karts sturdy enough to race in a time trial, before repurposing them into colourful, sustainable planters that would remain on site as part of the build.
It was a creative and meaningful challenge that combined innovation, teamwork, and community spirit, qualities at the heart of Splash Projects’ ethos. Despite tough, rainy conditions, the students showed exceptional determination and leadership throughout, demonstrating the resilience needed to turn a demanding brief into something lasting and positive.
Dave was proud to be part of the project, giving his time to support the hands-on build and share his practical knowledge as part of Splash’s volunteer team. The experience not only helped the students develop real-world leadership and problem-solving skills, but also left behind a tangible contribution for the ESSCA community to enjoy.

From concept to completion, the ESSCA Angers project showed how sustainability and leadership go hand in hand, proving that great things happen when people work together for a shared goal.
