A homeowner in Torquay recently contacted us to rewire their kitchen as part of a renovation project. As with all electrical work, we began with a full test of the existing circuits before carrying out any installation. This initial check proved to be essential.
During testing, our engineers uncovered three existing faults on the kitchen circuit that had been in place for quite some time. One of the most concerning issues was a nail directly through a live cable, located just above the fuse board. This posed a serious safety risk and required immediate attention.
We removed a section of plasterboard, exposed the damaged area and safely repaired and rewired the affected cabling. Once this was resolved, we continued to track down and fix the other two faults found on the same circuit.
With the electrical safety issues fully rectified and certification updated, we were then able to complete the original job: a full kitchen rewire including new sockets, appliance supplies and lighting arrangements designed to suit the client’s new layout.
The result was a safe, reliable and compliant installation delivered with clear communication and minimal disruption. Our customer was pleased to know their home was not only upgraded, but now safer than before.
